It was January 28, 2011, when Chrisi and I walked out of the airport in Guatemala City and started our new life and ministry here in the mountains of Central America. These 10 years have been amazing.
After language school, we moved to Chichicastenango where our ministry has been based since 2011. Over the past 10 years God opened doors for us to serve alongside a local ministry with a clinic and a Bible school. We’ve provided healthcare, taught Bible classes, mentored interns, led teams, and grown in our passion to develop disciples who know God and love His Word. Working together with our Guatemalan brothers and sisters we’ve ministered here as well as in Mexico and Cuba.
In our community local children came to play in our yard, so we started a Bible club to teach them God’s Word and developed connections with local schools and churches. We wrote a Bible lesson book to help churches, schools, and outreaches teach and disciple children and equip teachers.
Over these 10 years, we’ve been joined by our own six children who help us reach out to neighbors, prepare and deliver food to those in need, and at times keep us humbly reminded of God the Father’s unending love for all of us.
We are grateful for all of this and we’re thankful to God for leading us each step of the way. We also thank you for being part of making these years possible with your faithful prayer and generous support.
As we start year eleven of ministry in Guatemala we keep on doing many of the same things we started: teaching the Bible, developing leaders, and discipling. We are excited to see how God continues to use us to keep on reaching Guatemala and the world.
