Encouraging and equipping teachers

Since 2015 we’ve been helping with the teachers at an elementary school that sits about two blocks from our home. With help from generous donors we outfitted a computer lab with 10 computers. We’ve provided school supplies and English teachers. When school is in session, the teachers bring children to our yard for break time since they don’t have  a playground of their own.

Over the years we have worked to encourage these teachers as they are dedicated to teaching many of the poor students from our neighborhood. They have about 80 students in K-6th grade. Please pray that each of these teachers will step closer to Christ as we reach out to help them and their students.

Above is a photo of us with the teachers at an end of the year lunch we invited them to earlier this month. 

As the new school year begins in 2022, we plan to provide Bible-based values booklets for them to use with their students.

We’re also looking for ways to help them update their computers since the ones they received are six years old and worn out from lots of students using them. A new desktop computer here costs about US $400.
