I’d last spoken with pastor Eliseo when I was at his church teaching a workshop for new children’s ministry workers a few weeks ago, so I wasn’t expecting his call when the phone rang that morning.
Eliseo told me he needed 10 sets of our children’s ministry books for the pastors who are visiting his church. They want to take them with them today!
So, I quickly collected the books they needed and packed them into our van and headed for Pastor Eliseo’s church. He was meeting with a group of pastors from his mission. They were excited about receiving children’s ministry materials so they can teach the children in their churches.
It was exciting to deliver each of the packets to these pastors and see their smiles as they saw the bright colors of the booklet covers. Each of the packets they received contains 10 student booklets and 1 teacher’s manual with over 160 Bible stories and principles for teaching kids. The packets also include information on how the pastors can get a free training workshop for their kids ministry team.
These books were written during the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic and are now helping equip churches and children’s ministries across Guatemala and in other countries too! So far free downloads of the stories have been downloaded to 33 different countries across the globe. The free workshops we provide are helping train church leaders teach God’s Word to children who may one day lead those very churches, be missionaries to other nations, lead their communities and teach what they’ve learned to their own children.
For the books we request a small donation that helps cover the cost of printing and helps us continue to produce and provide these resources in a sustainable way.
Since January, 2022, we’ve held workshops with some 15 churches represented.
