Isabel is more than just a translator. After a group from the Guatemalan ministry called ASELSI visited her church in 2016, she decided that she wanted to serve in missions using the giftings that God has developed in her–her ability to speak Spanish and English and her heart to serve.
And serve she has! In 2016 and again in 2017 Isabel raised a portion (about US$70) of the cost of the trip to participate in a mission trip alongside a team from the United States. She raised part of her own support because she was coming not just a hired translator but as a team member herself.
Isabel is part of a new generation of Guatemalans who have a heart for missions! As she connected with the team and helped them connect with others, she prepares for ministry on a greater scale.
We are excited about Isabel and other Guatemalans catching the vision of missions and taking the steps to invest their hearts, time, treasure, and skills in reaching others instead of waiting for outsiders to do this for them.
Isabel is showing interest in the Internship that Michael has developed at ASELSI so please pray for her as she explores God’s next step for her.
