In Guatemala schools, churches and others celebrate just about anything that they can…including Día del niño (Children’s Day).
Just a few weeks ago, we were invited to help a local church celebrate children. While this celebration was filled with balloons, fun activities, a Bible lesson and an evangelistic message for the heart of young and old, that celebration remind me of how Jesus loved children. In fact, Jesus got after his disciples when they were sending away the kids who parents brought to see him. The Bible says Jesus was indignant that they were keeping the kids away.
“Let the little children come to me,” Jesus told them. Then he welcomed the children, held them and blessed them.
With teaching materials, outeaches and activities here in Guatemala we continue to help the little children come to Jesus! We are grateful for the open doors God has given us to reach into our communities, churches, and schools with his love.
Pray with us that children and adults will have hearts open to the embrace of Christ and the transforming power of His salvation.
